I agree with many points you made and I appreciate the research on swimwear you did for this article. That said, I would give children more credit: I can clearly remember wanting to wear a bikini as a 5-year-old because I wanted to look like my mom and aunt. I would say, let children wear what they feel comfortable with (within reason of course). Some days on the beach I would run around butt-naked, others I would „dress-up“ in a bikini.
