I get your point, however it does not apply to this particular interaction. You see, Parthiv might have said he just needed a friend to talk to, but that was obviously not his real intention. He proceeded to compliment me and ask me whether I had a boyfriend, and when I pointed out his inappropriate behaviour, he turned around, claiming he had never been flirtatious and I just misread the whole situation. Manipulation is not a good way to get new friends and it is only normal to be mistrustful in such a case.
