I think that although it is true that there are also profiles coded as female which target male users, gender still plays a role in this particular exchange (and presumably in many others like this). Just the way a man speaks to a woman (and vice versa) is a product of socialisation based on gender norms and inequality. How it plays out between strangers online is just another interesting display of these power dynamics.
