Interesting perspective, but I would leave a bit of room for other women too. Not everyone has the same needs or desires. I know plenty of women who want their ring to be small for practical reasons, those who don‘t want diamonds for ethical reasons (aka diamond mining is super shady), or women who don‘t want to get married at all. It‘s all good. Neither the proposal nor the ring will determine the success of a relationship.

That said, I too want a beautiful engagement ring and I make sure my boyfriend knows, lol. For me, it is about seeing that he listens to my wishes even if it might not match his (he could not care less about jewellery). Also, I prefer a good quality ring so that I am not afraid it might get damaged by day to day wear. But ultimately, my happiness and our happiness does not depend on this piece of gold and it would be foolish to pretend otherwise. It‘s just something fun to wear, after all.
